What does a teaching couple with two kids do when they take an ill-timed vacation and get stuck outside of China during the pandemic with one suitcase and never see their China home again? It gets worse... China boarders shut down, and my family and I were stranded in Mexico with one suitcase never to see our China home again. Worse yet, our teaching certs lapsed and the Florida Dept. of Education lost my records and stopped returning my emails-so renewing wasn’t an option.
